Enrollment

Pupils start Retamar in Year 1 (at 6 years of age). With regard to Pre-school years, we can recommend Alegra British School or Orvalle. Also, Orvalle has a standing agreement with the Pre-school Arcadia Group in the centre of Madrid which takes away from having to travel long distances at an early age.

Parents of future pupils at the School
The Retamar Foundation, in conjunction with the School, offers a guidance plan aimed at those families who wish to apply for a place at the School for their children in coming years.

Pupil enrollment
Pupils can be enrolled at the school by filling in the application form at the bottom of this page, or by contacting the School Administration Office (Telephone: (+34) 917 141 022; Fax: (+34) 917 141 023; email: secretaria@retamar.com).

Matriculation is open all year round and an application can be made at any time, irrespective of the intended date of enrollment. Once the duly completed application form has been received, a corresponding message will be sent from the School, with acknowledgment of receipt, stating the name of the person who will be conducting an interview with you and who will act as your liaison throughout the whole enrollment process.

Academic Synchronising Programme
Given the constant increase in profesional mobility in an ever more globalised world and with various and different educational models, we have detected the need for a Programme of adjustment and synchronisation for those pupils who come to the School from different educational systems, in such a way that they can build on their acquired knowledge and gradually assimilate our educational system, without any unnecessary tensión or frustration.

Our Department for Educational Guidance coordinates the Programme in collaboration with the pupil’s teachers, establishing any required individual or group remedial activities and determining what academic measures should be taken with a view to acquiring knowledge of the curriculum.   During this period of synchronisation, the pupil will be assessed in accordance with his previous educational system while gradually adjusting to the Retamar system. When, upon prior agreement with the family, it can be seen that the pupil has successfully adjusted, he will then begin to be assessed in the same way as his peers.

Throughout the duration of the Programme, each pupil will be assigned a coordinator, who may or may not be his preceptor, although preferably a teacher from his current Year and who will work closely in conjunction with the Department of Educational Guidance to keep track of the progress being made.
