Teaching of German Language

Being aware of the enormous enrichment and possibilities offered by its choice, Retamar offers the possibility of learning German from 6th of Primary.  The main objective of teaching is the development of the student's general communication skills through the development of each of the individual communicative skills by way of the following:

—reading and oral comprehension
—the oral and written expression
—expanding vocabulary through guided reading

GERMAN STUDENTS
The offer of German language studies as an elective second language is aimed at students with a good level of English, and without academic problems in Language and Mathematics. It is a choice that involves a certain degree of involvement on the part of the student, both at school and after-school activities that must translate into effort, application and interest to overcome the requirement of a complex language.

NUMBER OF CLASS SESSIONS
The German subject can be taken from 6th Primary to Secondary school to 2nd Baccalaureate at the rate of two hours per week, except in 6th Primary where they will have 3 hours.

METHODOLOGY
Through the active participation of the student, it is designed to create the circumstances so that the three processes of learning, acquisition and development of the language can take place.

The method used in the classroom will be mainly both communicative and active. The activities of the classroom will allow the learner to know in a scientific way the linguistic system, its elements and interrelationships, through discourse; knowing how to use the rules of the system at its phonic, morphosyntactic and semantic bases.
