Digital Mindset

Providing a comprehensive education to our students to enable them to positively change the society they live in has always been one of Retamar’s hallmarks.

We are fully aware of the impact technology has on daily live, work and personal relationships. That’s why we have decided to incorporate this reality in our education project under the name “Digital Mindset”.

This new distinctive identity trait of the school will be present along the different stages of the education project in Retamar and will be divided in three main areas: anthropological education (being more human to be more digital), IT education and education on the use of new technologies (getting a taste for technology).

An example of the actions included in this curriculum implemented are as follows:

—Primary Education: basic programming concepts in Scratch.

—Secondary Education: Typewriting, introduction to the advanced programming language (Python)

—Baccalaureate: Introduction to data processing: Data Science and Business Intelligence

In addition to the above, short specific courses are carried out to learn concepts regarding Digital Mindset such as: Internet Security and Privacy, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Blockchain, Fundamentals of Internet, Cloud Computing and Cloud Services.

In Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, this curriculum materialises in the Digital Mindset e-Passport, which is a follow-up to the passport used in Primary.
